After liking 8-9 games last week, I don’t have a feel on many of the games. This looks like the toughest week of the year. I will take a stab at few.
Pittsburgh Steelers (H) vs Baltimore Ravens (Steelers by 2.5, opened 2)
After a tough “loss” last week taking the Steelers laying small I am going with them again today, Steelers – 2.5. The Steelers seem like they have gotten a little bit of that swagger back and should have a boost in momentum after that thrilling last second victory over the Packers. The Steelers weakness has been the defense and other than Derrick Mason I don’t think the Ravens have the fire power to take advantage of the Steelers secondary playing without Troy Polamalu.
Philadelphia Eagles (H) vs Denver Broncos (Eagles by 6.5, opened 8.5)
This line move is very interesting, I like the Broncos +6.5. It certainly isn’t the public moving this one, and the Eagles look good on the injury front. This is a strange one to me and I am going with it. The Broncos have a lot to play for and Brian Dawkins should have that defense fired up as he returns to Philly.
San Francisco 49ers (H) vs Detroit Lions (49ers by 14, opened 11)
I like the 49ers -14, as I think they will have a very easy time of it today. The Lions are starting QB Drew Stanton and I see that 49ers opportunistic defense making big plays. They also have the offense to put up the points to cover this big spread. I really like an offense with QB Alex Smith connecting with WR Michael Crabtree and TE Vernon Davis. I also expect a big game out of running back Frank Gore.
Steelers -2.5 (2 out of 5)
Broncos +6.5 (4 out of 5)
49ers (4 out of 5)
